Goddess of death, initiation, inspiration, magic and regeneration. Known as the moon goddess and grain deity. She is also a very powerful muse to those of Her worshippers She deems worthy. She is the keeper of the cauldron of the Otherworld, in which inspiration and divine knowledge are brewed. She set the child Gwion to stirring it for a year and a day, however, Gwion tasted the brew and thus obtained its benefits. Cerridwen, realizing what had happened, pursued the boy, during which both She and Gwion transformed themselves into a variety of creatures -- the original wizard's battle. Finally, Cerridwen in the form of a hen, swallowed Gwion in the form of a grain of corn. She became pregnant as a result and gave birth to Talisin the greatest of the Celtish bards.
